Melisa Camp Bio


Melisa Camp is a licensed Realtor with HomeSmart Elite Group, Instructor & Administrator for Elite Education, and sustainable building consultant in Phoenix. She has a M.A. in Education and B.A. in Business and Communication from Arizona State University. She is one of only 8 Arizonans to hold the LEED AP-Homes accreditation & has been teaching adults since 2012.

She currently serves on the National Association of Realtors (NAR) Green REsource Council Advisory Board, NAR's Sustainability Advisory Group, and on the Arizona Association of Realtors Board of Directors. She has presented at several National Association of Realtors Conferences & webinars across the U.S. This November she will be presenting for the 5th time in San Francisco in November.


She filmed NAR's GREEN Day 1 webinar in Chicago for the online class in 2016 and edited and contributed to the  GREEN Designation textbooks in 2018.


Her training also includes passing the Appraisal Institute’s 15 hour course and exam on the Residential and Commercial Valuation of Solar. Camp helped create the Arizona Association of Realtors standardized form Solar Lease/Loan Assumption Addendum in 2017. She also has helped update green MLS fields within the Arizona Regional MLS several times over the years.

In 2019, Camp was elected the Arizona Association of Realtors Board of Directors to serve a one year term. She was also appointed to theNational Association of Realtor's Sustainability Advisory Board for a one year term.


Formerly, Camp served as secretary of the Central Branch Board for the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC AZ) and was Arizona’s advocate for the Residential Green Building Committee. During her six years of volunteer service Camp hosted events on high-performance home valuation, green home financing & certifications. She is now a Pro-Reviewer for USGBC and evaluates online educational content & course providers every three weeks.

She has certified multiple homes using the NGBS ICC 700 Standard, including a net-zero home remodel in Tempe. Camp has been recognized for her dedication to raising awareness and volunteer efforts with the EverGreen Award from NAR and the Environmental Stewardship Award from Keep AZ Beautiful. She was also awarded HomeSmart’s Diamond Club Award for sales volume.

John Rosshirt, Guest Instrustor

NAR's Smart Growth for the 21st Century


John Rosshirt is a REALTOR® from Austin, TX who is an Associate Broker and co-owner of a family real estate business with four offices serving central Texas. He is an active salesperson as well as an instructor.


Entering the real estate business in 1990, he now holds the professional designations of Graduate, REALTOR® Institute (GRI), Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), GREEN, and Senior Real Estate Specialist, (SRES). He graduated from the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, MN in 1980.


At the National REALTOR® Level, John served as a Director from 2006 to 2008. He was on NAR’s Presidential Advisory Group for Global Climate Change Policy and has served on Land Use, Private Property Rights and Environment Committee. He currently serves on the Smart Growth Advisory Board  and on the GREEN Designation’s Advisory Board. In 2011 he was in the first instructor training for NAR’s ‘Smart Growth for the 21st Century’ course. Since then he has had the privilege to deliver the class in many states and at NAR’s Midyear and Annual Conferences. In 2013 was named Vice Chair of the Smart Growth Advisory Board and Chairman in 2014. He is the 2015 Recipient of the the GREEN Resource Council’s Evergreen Award.


At the local level, John was Chairman of the Austin Board of REALTORS® in 2006. At various times he taught Orientation, chaired the Education, Nominating and Grievance Committees and served on many other committees including Professional Standards, Budget and Audit, Realty Roundup, Equal Opportunity, Bylaw, and Nominating, as well as several task force assignments.


At the State level, John is on the Texas Association of REALTORS® executive board as a Regional Vice President. His accomplishments include Listing Agent of the Year 3 times, ABoR’s Salesman of the Year Award, ABoR Chairman’s Award for Service, and Omega Tau Rho.


Active in his community, he had been a longtime supporter of Blue Santa. He has served on his Property Owner Association Board and is a past president and currently on the board of the Oak Hill Business and Professional Association.


John and his wife Sharon raised four boys and are now enjoying two grandchildren. They live on five acres just southwest of Austin Texas with their horses, dogs, chickens, ducks and fish.
